"snappy and sexy" menus! WOW!

Re: Apple TV 3.0 Update

Hulu was crashing so hard that it required an ATV power cycle to reset anytime I used it, so I upgraded to 3.0.

Hate the new Helvetica look, need to explore how to get lucida grande back. ;-)

Re: Apple TV 3.0 Update

At first I was thinking that running the update would remove Perian & Flip4Mac and access via SSH. But after update all is still in tacked and I can still play my old Divx copies of Doctor Who & Lost.

As for the new menus, I don't really like them. Apple seem to have dropped their usual font and opted for a something that looks a lot like Arial or Helvetica?

It would be nice to control what content is added to the top when flicking through the menu, rather than just your unwatched content?

I did find this link via Adam at the MacCast if anyone wanted to create there own LP or Extras content: http://ituneslp.net

Now if us end users could create LP & Extras stuff that would be great.

Re: Apple TV 3.0 Update

There's one area of Apple TV hacking that, as far as I can tell, the world has lost interest in, much to my dismay:

http://www.appletvhacks.net...

I could be wrong, but we'd need an updated hacked Apple TV finder to make this work in 3.0, correct? I haven't seen any updates to these sort of hack attempts since 2.0 came out. ATV4Mac also seems to have dropped the ball out of disinterest. The people who built a Virtualized AppleTV 1.x OS in VMWare seemed to give up on development as soon as they got it mostly working (but without sound). And on and on.

Basically I want an AppleTV with an optical drive + the horsepower to stream Netflix, play all Hulu feeds (some of which just refuse to play well on Apple TV), etc.

Re: Apple TV 3.0 Update

http://bit.ly/QzJqx Tutorial on how to downgrade.

Re: Apple TV 3.0 Update

I just roll-back this morning from 3.0 to 2.4,
So whatever happens you can alway roll back :)

Like the 3.0 interface, but love my hacked ATV more

Re: Apple TV 3.0 Update

yes, please don't update yet.
